Hey Jealousy

Let’s just say, this is the drink that got me hooked on the mocktail craze. In my mind, full alcohol gin can be a very dangerous base for me because it tastes good on my tongue but goes straight to my head. And let’s just say, the hangover the next day is not fun after a night of drinking gin. So when my monthly subscription box from We are Raising the Bar, included a gin from CUT ABOVE that is zero-proof, I was instantly intrigued. Could this be the solution to my love of gin and not being able to handle it? I would have to say yes!

Seriously, the smell of CUT ABOVE gin even is beautiful and gets you excited to mix up something fun. Of course I tapped into the Gin Blossom’s song, Hey Jealousy and got to work on mixing up what I was soon going to find out is a refreshing and crisp fruity flavor that has the perfect blend of sweetness and tartness because of the Fruitbelt Apple Marigold Tonic. I normally am not a tonic water fan and usually stray away from cocktails that have it as a mixer, but I think the apple completely changed the normally harsh taste that had a bright flavor as it hit your tongue but didn’t linger like normal tonic does. Sprinkle some of the Marigold petals on top and you have your go-to summer drink. For a hot day, this is the drink that was just so cold and delicious, you will never miss the alcohol.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz CUT ABOVE Gin

  • 3.5-4 oz Fruitbelt Apple Marigold Tonic

  • Marigold Petals

Instructions

Fill a highball glass with ice, add non-alcoholic gin and tonic, stir, and garnish with marigold petals. It’s that simple and easy. Oh, and don’t forget to sing as you are stirring. It adds that extra flavor.
